Anita’s tale is a love story of plants and animals all things natural. She is a full-time, professional Small Animal Massage/Holistic Pet Care Practitioner and Professional Pet Chaperone at weddings and special events. She became certified in therapeutic massage to care for her senior rescue kitty with arthritis in his hind legs and her rescue dog adopted with a broken jaw which is healing naturally. Anita believes that a day filled with coos, purrs, wiggles and wags while nurturing happier and healthier tomorrows for your pet is the best day ever. She will care for and treat your beloved animals like her own.
Talents: She completed an extensive Master Gardener program and then attended the well-respected Northwest School of Animal Massage to obtain her certification as a Small Animal Massage Practitioner (SAMP), is currently completing a certification in Aromatherapy for Animals and is a Reiki Master trained in Japanese Usui Reiki Ryoho energy work. She is an insured member of the Associated Bodywork & Massage Professionals (ABMP) and Pet Sitters Associates, LLC, plus is a member of the International Association of Animal Massage & Bodywork (IAAMB). She has also completed both Pet Tech™ Pet CPR/First Aid and Pet Emergency Education's hands-on training courses. Paw It Forward: Anita created Now and Zen’s “Paw It Forward” program to further her commitment to community service and donates therapeutic massage sessions to hard-working therapy animals for every massage package purchased. She was proud to serve the Therapy Dogs of Boulder County and previously donated massages to the Humane Society of Oregon and the Humane Society of Boulder Valley. Volunteer Service: For the past 16 years, Anita has followed her heart and volunteered with various animal care and conservation organizations including the National Zoo in Washington, D.C., a wildlife refuge on the Emerald Coast of Florida, a wildlife conservation center in the Shenandoah Mountains of Virginia and farm sanctuaries, an equine therapy center, and the Oregon Humane Society in the Pacific Northwest, Humane Society of Boulder Valley and Therapy Dogs of Boulder County in Colorado. Kingston is the newest addition to the Now and Zen family and is a special needs rescue from the Pixie Project. He is a Miniature Pinscher/Chihuahua mix with a sweet high-stepping trot and bouncy ears. He is a mellow lovebug that is friendly with all cats and dogs and is Anita's cute-t-pie sidekick.
Talents: He really loves to stop and smell the flowers, grass, every bush, interesting blades of grass, telephone poles and trash cans. His favorite toy is a stuffed lamb and he adores snuggling in bed. Pet names: King, Pumpkin and Kinnnnggg-ston Super power: Invisibility. Kingston would love to visit trash cans in stealth mode. Persia with her saffron eyes is the newest member of the family. She was rescued from the Humane Society of Boulder Valley and is an affectionate and very playful kitty companion. Talents: Persia is still young and adventurous and can leap anything in a single bound. She also gives hugs and jumps onto her mum to ride around on her shoulders. Pet names: Persia answers to Purr-zhu and She She Kitten. Super power: Flight. furever in our hearts
